About Dr Jim Taylor

Dr. Jim Taylor, Ph.D., is an internationally recognized authority on the psychology of sport and parenting, and has consulted with athletes, coaches, and parents for more than 30 years. Jim has been a consultant to numerous national teams and Olympic committees, and has worked with professional, Olympic, collegiate, and junior-elite athletes in many sports, including squash. 

Jim has been a speaker at hundreds of elementary and secondary schools, education associations, and youth-sports programs around the world. Jim earned his Master's degree and Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Colorado, and is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Sports Management program at the University of San Francisco. 

Jim is the author of 17 books, including five parenting books and eight sport psychology books, and is also the editor of four textbooks related to sport psychology. He has published more than 750 articles in popular and professional publications and has given more than 1000 workshops and presentations throughout the North America and Europe.

A former internationally ranked alpine ski racer, Jim is a certified tennis coach, a 2nd degree black belt and certified instructor in karate, a marathon runner, an Ironman triathlete, and was an avid squash player for many years.
